We are so excited for the start of COCE’s very first annual 5K event today, June 11th, 2021. Our Growing Literacy 5K is a great way to support COCE’s efforts to increase literacy in rural Busia County Kenya. We are currently working towards the goal of building a library where we can provide access to books and programmatic support to schoolchildren in their educational endeavors.   

Due to COVID our first 5K is virtual, but we hope that maybe next year we will be able to see at least some of the race participants in person. As an international non-profit we are lucky to have supporters from all over the world, and the beauty of having a virtual 5K is that many of our global supporters are able to participate with us. This year we have racers from places like Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and more!
