We are excited to have you join our mission to keep children in school and increase children's literacy and educational success in Busia County, Kenya.
Founded in 2005 COCE Kenya has been a registered non-profit in both Kenya and the USA for over 15 years.
Through infrastructure projects such as girl’s latrines, classrooms, and building repairs we have been able to help over 3,000 children in rural Kenya.
Over the years we have been able to fundraise over 100 thousand US dollars to support students in their education in rural Kenya.
The Collective for Orphan Care and Education prides itself on continually adapting and innovating in order to advocate for children in rural Kenya. We have committed to do this through a variety of projects & programs.
Educational sponsorship in sub-Saharan Africa is often the only path out of poverty. For too many children, pursuing an education is a constant financial struggle. Our sponsorship program's goal is to match sponsors with vulnerable children in Busia County, Western Kenya.
Providing an empty room alone does not help children towards an education. We aim to provide appropriate school materials and furnishings so that children have the space and the tools they need to succeed.
In rural Kenya there is a distinct lack of infrastructure to support education. Classes are held outside in absence of a classroom, and if there is a classroom it is often unsafe. Our building projects aim to provide a safe indoor space for children to learn.
It is our hope that in the future COCE Kenya can establish community programs such as vocational training to help broaden the positive impact upon people in Busia County, Kenya.
