Back to School in Kenya
As American families enjoy the last remains of the summer and begin considering the upcoming start of school in the Fall, the new school year has just begun in Kenya. In Kenya, there are three terms to the school year. Traditionally, term 1 of the Kenyan school year begins in January of every year, but due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which shuttered many Kenyan educational institutions, students received only a one-week break from their studies before resuming the start of the new school year in order to play catch-up.
Today marks the beginning of another exciting school year for the Collective for Orphan Care and Education’s educational sponsorship students, the majority of whom are entering their second year of high school, otherwise known as form 2. All the students are certainly excited for the beginning of the new school year. Please join us in wishing them well throughout their school year!
